Peek of the Week for April 18-22
Spelling Words: sea, bean, cleaning, team, dream, eat, neat, east, easy, each, peanut, read, head, bread, ready, heavy, weather, break, great, eight , weight, weigh, neighbor, either, been (due to the short week, we will only do spelling words and not vocabulary.)
Reading: “Montigue on the High Seas”
Genre: Story – A story has characters, a setting, and a plot.
1. cozy – snug, comfortable
2. drifted – to be pushed along by moving water
3. fleet – group of ships or boats
4. launched – to slide into the water
5. looming – appearing large and scary
6. realized – understood, figured out
Math; we will begin Ch 12 on multiplication this week.
Social Science; we will finish our past unit and have an open book vocab test on Thursday.
Requests and Reminders:
*Tuesday is our Tybee field trip. Parents are invited to attend. Our field trip is from 9:30-11:30. We will eat lunch in the park behind the library around 11:45. You are welcome to check your child out before or after lunch. Children are to wear their blue school field trip shirt, shorts, and some type of shoe for the beach.
*The Scholastic book fair is this week at school.
*Super Saturday will be THIS Saturday at school.
