Peek of the Week for Aug. 15-19
Bible Verse: Hebrews 13:17 "Obey your leaders and submit to their authority."
*Students will recite their Bible verse on Thursday. While we go over this in class each day, please make sure you are helping your child learn this at home as well.

Grammar: Our focus will be distinguishing between complete and incomplete sentences.
Reading: Our story this week is: The Mixed –Up Chameleon by Eric Carle. The genre of the story is a Fantasy. A fantasy is a story that takes place in a make-believe world.
*Students will take their reading test on Friday.
Vocabulary Words: Students will need to be familiar with vocabulary words for the reading comprehension test each week.
Vocabulary Words for the Week:
1. dull – not bright or clear
2. exciting – lively and interesting
3. handsome – good-looking
4. hardly – barely
5. sideways – from side to side
6. sparkling – shiny, bright
7. spotted – saw
Math: We will begin Chapter 3 in math this week. This covers place value to 100 and money. Our first timed test will be Wednesday, the 17th. This will be a practice test where no grade will be given. It will cover 50 addition problems with sums to 18 in 3 minutes.

*We had a great first 2 days of school.
*Thank you for placing your carpool tag on your visor and not the dashboard.
*Don't forget to send in a water bottle every day.
