Reading: Our story this week is: “The Emperor’s Egg”
Genre – Nonfiction: Informational Book – an informational book gives facts about a topic.
Vocabulary Words:
1. flippers – small fins used like hand or feet
2. hatch – to break out of an egg
3. miserable – very unhappy
4. slippery – not sticky, causing sliding
5. waddled to move in a funny way, like a duck
6. horizon – where the sky seems to meet the earth
Math: We will continue Ch 8 on time.
Timed test: differences of 7
Social Science: land forms, continents, and oceans
We will be sending home a study guide and books on Monday. We will have a test on Thursday, Feb. 9th.

*Valentine's Day is coming up! Don't forget to buy a Valentine for every member of the class. Your teacher will be sending home a class list soon.
*Georgia Day will be Feb. 17th. Your child will need to wear a colonial costume or Native American costume.
