Peek of the Week for March 30-April 2
Bible Verse – Matthew 5:13 “Ye are the salt of the earth.” Students will write their Bible verse in cursive on Thursday.
Spelling Words: sea, bean, cleaning, team, dream, eat, neat, east, easy, each, peanut, read, head, bread, ready, heavy, weather, break, great, eight (Due to the short week, we are only using 20 of the spelling words this week instead of the 25.)
Vocabulary words:
1. trio: a group of three
2. diligent: hard-working
3. champion: a winner
Reading: “Montigue on the High Seas”
Genre: Story – A story has characters, a setting, and a plot.
Vocabulary Words:
1. cozy – snug, comfortable
2. drifted – to be pushed along by moving water
3. fleet – group of ships or boats
4. launched – to slide into the water
5. looming – appearing large and scary
6. realized – understood, figured out
Math – We will have a chapter test on Ch 8 on Monday. We will then continue with Ch 9. Timed test on Wednesday: differences of 9 and we will drop to 3:45. Our eventual goal is 3 minutes.
Requests and Reminders:
*Please send in 12 candy filled, plastic eggs by Thursday morning and an Easter basket for the hunt.
*We will have an Easter snack and a science experiment after lunch on Thursday.
*Our egg hunt will be at 1:45 in the pecan grove. Each class will need a few parents to come around 1:20 and help hide eggs. If you are available, please let your classes' room mom know. All parents are invited to attend the hunt.
*Easter holiday will be Friday-Monday. We will see you back at school on Tuesday, April 7th.
