Spelling words are: alive, alone, apart, away, awake, across, around, also, almost, always, belong, below, behind, become, enjoy, entire, unless, unload, unlock, unpack, unfold, unbroken, unkind, wasn’t (was not), weren’t (were not)
Spelling vocabulary:
1. obedient: doing what is asked
2. lengthen: to make longer
3. equal: the same as
Reading: “Montigue on the High Seas”
Genre: Story – A story has characters, a setting, and a plot.
Vocabulary Words:
1. cozy – snug, comfortable
2. drifted – to be pushed along by moving water
3. fleet – group of ships or boats
4. launched – to slide into the water
5. looming – appearing large and scary
6. realized – understood, figured out
Math: We will continue with Ch 12 multiplication and division.
Timed tests: Your teacher should be sending an email to let you know how she is handling the end of the year tests.
Social Science: We are finishing up our animal habitats unit. The students will be using the iPads to research an animal and put together a report.

*This week is Snack week for teacher appreciation! Send your teacher their favorite snack!
*Friday, May 12: Barnabas chapel and a special chapel honoring Dr. Palmer. It will be in Eckburg and all parents are invited to attend.
*Monday, May 15: Talent Show 9-11 in Eckburg
*Tuesday-Friday, May 23-26: halfdays
*Friday, May 26: End of the Year awards 9-11 in Eckburg (This will be perfect attendance for 2nd grade.)
