Genre: Realistic Fiction – Realistic fiction tells about characters that are like people in real life. *We will not be reading the stories, “From Seed to Plant” and “The Secret Life of Trees”. We will read these stories in the spring.

Social Science: First Thanksgiving
Requests and Reminders:
*Operation Christmas Child boxes are due this week. An email from the school came home last Friday with directions.
*Friday, Nov. 20: Second grade will be performing a Thanksgiving chapel. All students will perform at 8:45 AM in the old Upper School gym. Please have your child wear nice performance clothes. We would love to invite you to come!
*Tuesday, Nov. 24th at 1:15 pm: Dessert tasting
All second grade classes will perform a short program different from chapel. After the performance, we will have a small dessert tasting of fall favorites. This performance will take place outside our building in the open lawn space. We invite you to join us! You are also welcome to check your child out after this to start your holiday.
*Wednesday-Sunday, Nov. 25-29: Thanksgiving holiday
