Genre: Realistic Fiction – Realistic fiction is a story with characters and events that are like people and events in real life.
Our focus this week in reading will be compare and contrast.
Vocabulary
1. announced – made something known to many people
2. arrived – came to a place
3. glum – gloomy; sad
4. members – those who belong to a group
5. rebuild – make something again; build again
Math: We will have a math test on Ch 4 on Monday.
Timed tests: We will continue to have an addition timed test on Wednesday sums of 18 in 3 minutes. We will also begin working on our subtraction timed tests. On Thursday, we will do 25 problems differences of 0,1 in 2 minutes. For example: 2-0, 4-1.
Science: We will begin a unit on bats.

*Thankful Plateful project: A letter and plate will come home this week. This project is due on November 13th.
*Veteran's Day holiday: November 11th
*Second grade Thanksgiving chapel: Friday, Nov. 20th
